Overview

The University of Idaho, located in Moscow, Idaho, is a public research institution established in 1889. Nestled in the rolling hills of the Palouse region, the university is approximately 300 miles north of Boise and within driving distance of Spokane, Washington. The campus is characterized by a mix of Romanesque and Classical Revival architectural styles, contributing to its distinct academic atmosphere. Offering a broad spectrum of undergraduate and graduate programs, the University of Idaho is particularly recognized for its strong emphasis on research and its College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The institution maintains a moderately selective admission process. Campus life is marked by a variety of on-campus living options, with residence halls and Greek housing available. In the most recent statistical year 13,393 prospective students applied, and 9,891 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 1,951 enrolled in the school.  8,409 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 3,098 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $6,182 plus fees of $2,214.
