Mid Continent University

Overview

Mid-Continent University, previously located in Mayfield, Kentucky, was a private institution that provided a distinctly Christian-focused educational environment. The campus, prior to its closure in 2014, was situated in a rural setting, offering students a serene academic backdrop. Founded in 1949, Mid-Continent University originally operated under the name Mid-Continent Baptist Bible Institute, reflecting its religious foundation. The curriculum primarily focused on liberal arts education, and while operational, the university did not achieve significant recognition for specific academic programs or notable athletic accomplishments. Its application process was considered broadly accessible, aiming to serve a diverse student body. Residential facilities were available to accommodate students wishing to live on campus during their studies.

In the most recent statistical year 419 prospective students applied, and 365 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 262 enrolled in the school.  2,060 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 414 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $8,190 plus fees of $483.
