Herkimer County Community College, established in 1966, is a two-year community college located in Herkimer, New York, approximately 15 miles east of Utica. With a scenic campus set in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, Herkimer provides a picturesque learning environment with a range of associate degree and certificate programs. The college is particularly known for its strong programs in Criminal Justice, Business, and Human Services. Herkimer prides itself on open-access admissions with a less selective application process. Housing is available on campus through three residence halls that accommodate students seeking a traditional college experience. Herkimer's athletic teams, known as the Generals, compete at the NJCAA Division III level and have gained notability in sports such as soccer and basketball.

Herkimer County Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  1,054 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 976 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $5,116 plus fees of $660.
