Milligan College

Overview

Milligan College, officially known as Milligan University since June 2020, is a private Christian liberal arts university located in the mountains of Northeast Tennessee, near the city of Johnson City. Founded in 1866, the institution maintains a historical affiliation with the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ. The university's campus spans 235 acres, showcasing a mix of contemporary and historic architecture, with a significant proportion of students residing on campus in residence halls and apartments. Milligan University hosts a selection of undergraduate and graduate programs with notable emphasis on business, education, and healthcare-related fields. While the university maintains an inclusive admissions policy, it is moderately selective, attracting a diverse student body interested in a faith-integrated curriculum. The university's athletic teams, known as the Buffaloes, compete in the NAIA, particularly gaining recognition in sports such as tennis and track and field.

In the most recent statistical year 615 prospective students applied, and 414 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 174 enrolled in the school.  1,096 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 112 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $27,700 plus fees of $1,030.
