The Evergreen State College

Overview

The Evergreen State College, established in 1967, is a public liberal arts and sciences institution located in Olympia, Washington, about 60 miles southwest of Seattle. Noted for its distinctive interdisciplinary curriculum and narrative evaluation system in place of traditional grades, Evergreen emphasizes collaborative, team-taught programs and experiential learning. The campus is situated on 1,000 wooded acres, fostering a close connection with nature and offering a serene study environment. Evergreen provides on-campus housing options, including apartments and dormitories, to accommodate its student body. In the most recent statistical year 1,623 prospective students applied, and 1,207 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 274 enrolled in the school.  1,864 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 241 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $7,596 plus fees of $1,154.
