What is a D- letter grade?

A D- is the second lowest grade on the U.S. high school and college grading scale ranging from A+ to F. A letter D- means less than satisfactory or below average performance in a class. The '-' further refines the student's work as slightly lower than a D but better than an F. A D- is a worse grade than a D.
