Overview

Clemson University, founded in 1889, is a public research institution located in the town of Clemson in South Carolina, approximately 30 miles west of Greenville. Encompassing over 1,400 acres in a suburban setting, the campus features a prominent collection of Collegiate Gothic architecture. Clemson is characterized by a higher-than-average selectivity in its admissions process. The university offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, with notable strengths in engineering, business, and the sciences. In the most recent statistical year 52,819 prospective students applied, and 22,704 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 4,588 enrolled in the school.  25,034 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 3,432 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $14,118 plus fees of $1,440.
