Clemson University, founded in 1889, is a public research institution located in the town of Clemson in South Carolina, approximately 30 miles west of Greenville. Encompassing over 1,400 acres in a suburban setting, the campus features a prominent collection of Collegiate Gothic architecture. Clemson is characterized by a higher-than-average selectivity in its admissions process.
